Since 1 March 2024, Dr. Bassam Alrifaee, a former senior researcher and lecturer in the Embedded Software group (Informatik 11), is professor for “Adaptive Behavior of Autonomous Systems“ at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. In Aachen, Prof. Alrifaee was responsible for the group „Cyber-physical Mobility“ and built one of the first scaled test beds for networked cooperating autonomous vehicles (https://cpm.embedded.rwth-aachen.de/). His work has been instrumental for the participation of the group in the SPP 1835 “Kooperativ interagierende Automobile”, the SFB Transregio 339 „Digitaler Zwilling Straße“, and the multi-site BMBF projects UNICARagil and AUTOtech.agil. We wish Prof. Alrifaee a smooth start and a lot of success in his new position.
