Seminar: Selected Topics on Embedded Software

Organization

During the seminar, individual topics from current research will be handed out. Prior knowledge in the areas of embedded systems is helpful. Therefore, we ask you to indicate any relevant prior knowledge when registering (e.g., attendance of specific lectures, internships, or similar). The seminar is composed of the sub-seminars Cyber-Physical Systems in Medical Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems in Mobility, and Formal and Semiformal Methods for Embedded Software, which can be chosen individually via Supra.

Start

Introductory session: 11/10/2023 in room 2202, main building of the Computer Science Center, Maple Street 55. The exact time will be announced. The introductory event will take place exclusively in presence and is a compulsory event. Participation in the seminar without attending the introductory event is not possible (exception: illness and submission of a medical certificate).

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor and Master students are admitted to this seminar. For participants in the Bachelor's program, the Proseminar is a prerequisite.
  • If applicable, prior knowledge is an advantage for working on individual topics.
  • Please include relevant prior knowledge with your registration to increase your chance of assignment. === Procedure === * In a first meeting the course of the seminar is presented. After this meeting, the participants are assigned individual topics which are to be worked on within previously defined deadlines. After the first meeting, there is an orientation period, as defined in the examination regulations, during which each participant can return his or her topic without this being counted as a failed attempt. An alternative topic can not be guaranteed, but in this case there is also no binding registration for the examination. After the end of the orientation phase, registration with the ZPA takes place. * A written paper and a 20-minute final presentation are required. For the paper and the slides the handed out templates have to be used (LaTeX or PowerPoint). * The seminar will take place as a block course at the end of the lecture period. Attendance is compulsory for the introductory lecture as well as for the block lecture at the end of the lecture period.
